The five star rating system provides a way to distinguish one organization from the other. This rating
system is not intended to be the final word on the effectiveness of a grassroots organization, it is only
an opinion. Some organizations are just websites, while other organizations are world wide with
thousands of members. The ideal organization in this system would be WBAI, United for Peace and
Justice, and the International Socialist Organization.

Five Star System

1 Star: Fundamentals – mission statement, members, contact page, logo, and website.
2 Stars: Substantial – multiple members, some affiliates, host or present at some events.
3 Stars: Methodological – regular meetings, events, newsletters, videos or other media
4 Stars : Recognition – media in newspapers, radio, or tv. Affiliations and notice in other clubs. Notable
presence and fame in the activist field.
5 Star: Honors – organized group with awards, great achievements, or accomplishments.
